Trick Tracts Review: "Bewitched"

Synopsis: Popular TV shows and board games are pawns of the devil to lead you away from what is right..

Did you know that popular television show "Bewitched" was not only what paved the way for all occult and vampire programming viewed today, but that is also Satan's favorite show? Well, if you had read the Trick Tract "Bewitched", you'd be up on these surprising statistics.

In this gem, our badly-in-need-of-saving protagonist is Ashley Wilson, a young rogue teen whose "brains and arteries are beginning to gel" because of "60 hits of acid mixed with speed" that she has ingested in the past few years. I was unaware that any drug or combination of drugs could cause your "brains and arteries" to "gel"; actually I'm not even sure what that means.

Anyway, young Ms. Wilson has a grandmother that is praying fervently for her lost soul. While she should be more concerned about her 16 year-old granddaughter's drug use and the fact that she's run away from home, grandmother Wilson is really only concerned about what happens to Ashley after she dies. Ashley goes to see a psychic to reconnect with her dead mother (whom we've learned is burning in hell) and an evil spirit disguised as her mother tells Ashley that she is happy and at peace. Because, according to the tract, dealing with psychics, mediums and spirit guides is "strictly prohibited by God"; so are a lot of things - I'm surprised he allows his followers to breathe.

Ashley goes home to tell her grandmother about the séance. Grandmother Wilson tries to bring Ashley to Jesus, but her face melts off and she ends up in the hospital dying of a heart attack because of an LSD flashback (Ashley not her grandmother).

After reading this, I did some research online about LSD causing heart attacks - especially months after taking it. I could find nothing anywhere online that said LSD, or flashbacks caused by previous LSD-usage, could cause a heart attack. I found this information about the risks of LSD:

"The effects associated with LSD use are unpredictable and depend upon the amount taken, the surroundings in which the drug is used, and the user's personality, mood, and expectations. Some LSD users experience a feeling of despair, while others report terrifying fears--of losing control, going insane, or dying. Some users have suffered fatal accidents while under the influence of LSD.

LSD users often have flashbacks, during which certain aspects of their LSD experience recur even though they have stopped taking the drug. In addition, LSD users may develop long-lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression.

LSD is not considered an addictive drug--that is, it does not produce compulsive drug-seeking behavior as cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine do. However, LSD users may develop tolerance to the drug, meaning that they must consume progressively larger doses of the drug in order to continue to experience the hallucinogenic effects that they seek."

Here is yet another example of Trick Tracts trying to scare you with misinformation and falsehoods. LSD does not kill you. Going to séances does not condemn you to hell, and Satan does not have a board room where ghouls present to him the weekly sales of astrology books and Oujia boards. And "Bewitched", for your information, is not Satan's favorite TV show. It's "The Mary Tyler Moore Show". Everyone knows that.
